Creative March in our kindergarten

March was all about creativity and preparing for the special time before Easter. The children enjoyed crafting, designing and contributing their own ideas. Lovingly designed works of art were created in keeping with Lent. This not only encouraged fine motor skills, but also created space for discussions about values and community.

Another special highlight was the preparation for Father’s Day. They made and even baked with great enthusiasm – little gifts that come from the heart. It was great to see how much fun the children had creating a very personal surprise for their fathers.

Celebrating together on St. Joseph’s Day

On March 19, we celebrate a very special day in our kindergarten: the feast day of St. Joseph – and also our Father’s Day. St. Joseph stands for care, reliability and quiet strength and is therefore a wonderful role model for fatherhood. We use this special occasion to consciously honor the role of fathers in the lives of children.

We cordially invite all fathers to a joint breakfast coffee. This gives fathers the opportunity to spend time together with their children: exploring the kindergarten, playing or creating. These shared moments are particularly valuable for the children and strengthen the relationship in a very personal and joyful way.

Forest day

In science lessons, we dealt with birds and nest building. During a visit to the forest, the children built their own little bird nests and were particularly pleased that their wooden structures from the last forest day were still intact. They then continued to work diligently on them.

The first delicate harbingers of spring are already appearing on the primary school terrace – in keeping with the current topic in science lessons. The children in class 1A are following the growth of their plants with great curiosity and enthusiasm. They are still busy watering and observing, but in just a few weeks they can look forward to harvesting crunchy carrots and fresh radishes.

Easter workshop – Service Learning

In March, an Easter workshop was held for our 2nd graders together with the 2nd graders from the grammar school. As part of service learning, the “older” pupils supervised various stations. There were many varied stations: Egg race, baking bunny striezel, an Easter bingo and a flash reading station with Easter words. The children were able to relax in the book theater while they created Easter window and door decorations at the craft stations. Many thanks for the great support!

Lent Campaign 2026

A big thank you on behalf of all of you who supported the Cenacolo community with durable food and hygiene articles. In the middle of this week, we brought a whole car full of bags filled with all kinds of everyday necessities to Burgenland. In Kleinfrauenhaid we were warmly welcomed by some members of the Cenacolo community. We were very happy about all the good things!!!

The project was very successful. The children did a lesson on addiction prevention in religion with me and we were able to implement the works of mercy right there: Where we have now offered concrete help to the men of the Cenacolo community, because they live by providence. On the other hand, in many classes I was able to show the model of Jerusalem that was built for us by the Cenacolo community and thus explain the Passion of Jesus better and more vividly. I am also grateful for this. So the Lent campaign was a wonderful WIN- WIN situation.

Secondary School

Our library is getting new! 📚

Our library will be redesigned during the Easter vacations: New shelves and comfortable seating will soon create an inviting atmosphere.

On March 19, the pupils of class 1A lent a helping hand and moved all the books together into the teaching resources room opposite – a big step towards the renovation!

As announced at the Leadership Day, we appreciate any support:

Thank you very much for your help!

Checkmate on the terrace

Who needs a normal chessboard when you can have an XXL one on the terrace on the 2nd floor?

On March 16, our new giant chess set was erected – despite a sudden drop in temperature in Donaucity. The pieces first had to be put together and then filled with around 2 kg of sand to prevent them from flying away. Of course, this was precisely weighed using equipment from the physics room – science is a must.

After a little over two hours, it was done: the chess was set up, we were slightly frozen, but also quite proud. And as soon as it was finished, the first match was played.

A big thank you to the sponsors who made this project possible!

Now only one thing is missing: who dares to take part in the next duel?

4AB Excursion to Simmering power plant

On March 6, both 4th grade classes visited the Simmering power plant. Inspired by a great guided tour, we are now even more grateful that the city of Vienna supplies us so well with energy, which is ultimately solar energy in every form.

Chemistry is like cooking – just don’t lick the spoon!

This is the motto under which chemistry lessons at our school are enlivened with experiments.
Here is an example of an experiment on galvanic cells (rechargeable batteries) in Year 7.
