Dear friends of Stella School!<\/h2>\n\n
In February, after the end of grades and before the semester break, we had room for many wonderful excursions and events that strengthened the class communities once again: the 2nd grade Gymnasium spent a ski week at Hochkar, our students paid a visit to the theater, some of our students tried their hand at escape rooms, and the last foothills of winter were used for ice skating. In Seebenstein, there were a number of excursions into the countryside and a hike to Seebenstein Castle.<\/p>\n\n
The second semester has now started – the last months that we will spend in Vienna at our temporary location in Lassallestrasse! Construction work on the Donauplatte is progressing rapidly and preparations for the move are drawing ever closer.<\/p>\n\n

Seebenstein Kindergarten<\/h2>\n\n
Four children in our kindergarten group will be moving on to elementary school this year. Evi and Mia have put special offers in place to prepare the children well for starting school. The children enjoyed traveling to the land of numbers and syllable games were incorporated into everyday life.<\/p>\n\n

For several days there was an “infirmary” in our group. We encouraged our “craft-loving” children to build their own “doctor’s kit”. Together we discussed what needs to be in a “first aid” kit.<\/p>\n\n

We had a lot of fun preparing for the carnival. Creative animal masks were designed, room decorations were made and a large dressing-up box was set up in the group.<\/p>\n\n

This time we hiked to Seebenstein Castle for our Nature Day! We hung up dried bread for the forest animals and we noticed that the animals ate it all. We created a picture together using natural materials.<\/p>\n\n

In February we had another visit from our lovely and funny crocodile and his companion. Together we learned more about incisors, molars and canines, and we learned how to brush our teeth properly.<\/p>\n\n

The pupils made and designed a prayer cube in craft lessons.<\/p>\n\n

Seebenstein Middle School<\/h2>\n\n
Our students had the privilege of experiencing an extraordinary train journey. We had the unique opportunity to experience a train journey at first hand and gained detailed insights into the operation of this mode of transportation. We were also given information about training opportunities and career prospects at a company in the rail transport sector.<\/p>\n\n

Acrobatics in gymnastics lessons – As the students perform various partner and group exercises, they not only develop confidence in their own abilities, but also learn to trust their classmates. Gymnastics lessons with acrobatics therefore not only create a positive and motivating learning environment, but also enable pupils to explore and expand their physical limits.<\/p>\n\n

Things got very exciting in religious education this time. By solving various puzzles, the kids determined a three-digit code that opened the combination lock of a treasure chest. They worked together in small groups and it remained exciting right to the end. Finally, the treasure was unlocked: a pocket Bible for each child.<\/p>\n\n

Stella Vienna Kindergarten<\/h2>\n\n
The sun is getting stronger and stronger and the tips of the first harbingers of spring are already peeking out of the earth. It’s high time to start decorating the kindergarten for spring. Tulips were used with full physical effort. The flower bulbs were donated to us by a mom who is a gardener – thank you very much. The children inspect their flower pots every day and are happy about every growth.<\/p>\n\n

Independence is also a top priority in kindergarten. We try to support the children in their independence. They enjoy doing things themselves and it also strengthens their self-efficacy. In the moon group, the children worked intensively on wiping the table. With the right child-sized materials, the children quickly learned to clean up their place after lunch. A big step towards independence!<\/p>\n\n

Stella Vienna afternoon care<\/h2>\n\n
We also offer childcare for school children during non-school hours. During this time, there are always a wide variety of offers and many excursions.<\/p>\n\n
During the semester break, the afternoon care children went to the Institute for the Blind and had a guided tour there. They were also able to try out numerous things and experience what it is like when you can’t see. This raises awareness of people with disabilities and at the same time makes the children feel more grateful for their own health.<\/p>\n\n

In the llama class we celebrated our llama’s birthday – and then went ice skating! It was cold, but we had such a good time.<\/p>\n\n

The 2A ski course on the Hochkar<\/strong><\/p>\n\n
It was a really nice time where we got to know each other better. The pupils, who were skiing for the first time, learned to ski very quickly.<\/p>\n\n
Every evening we played cool games, and one very special game was the game of “fear”. Here you had to face your fears, e.g. sing a song or dance in front of everyone. Unfortunately, time has passed very quickly. We had a big farmhouse, but the coolest thing about the house was that you could even take a look inside a cowshed.<\/p>\n\n
I personally found the skiing the best, as there were all levels of slopes. The beginners skied on the green slope, the brave ones with an instructor on the blue, red or black slope.<\/p>\n\n

The last units in art and design were all about the colorful world of colors. In addition to the theoretical basics, the students had the task of mixing their own color wheel from the primary colors and then experimenting with the colors.<\/p>\n\n

In physics lessons, 3A made simple batteries from everyday metals.<\/p>\n\n

We were also able to conduct a series of experiments on the myths surrounding Coca Cola.<\/p>\n\n

The group of the non-binding exercise “Performing Arts” dealt in class with the play by Cornelia Funke “The Lord of the Thieves”, which is currently running at the Theater Casino.<\/p>\n\n
We had a detective workshop with a drama teacher from the Burgtheater ensemble, where we were introduced to the characters and the plot of the play in a playful way.<\/p>\n\n
On Sunday, February 11, we then watched the play as a group in the Theater Casino, which is about friendship, cohesion and growing up. Some of us were particularly fascinated by the stage design, which was very minimalist and yet expressive.<\/p>\n\n
We had a lot of fun exploring this literary work and had our first theater experience together!<\/p>\n\n

In Year 3, we wanted to go on an excursion before the semester break to strengthen the class community. After democratic consultation, we decided on an escape room. Planning and puzzling together to complete the various tasks helped us to discover different sides of our classmates and we really enjoyed the trip together!<\/p>\n\n
